Frozen
The desolate look in his eyes
Versus the words he said
I look away to escape
The leaves around me brown and dead
His face is stone and statuesque
Colder than the air
And snowflakes sparkle on his skin
And dance upon his hair
Winter, winter, oh dark night
Let me fall asleep
This man was once my universe
But never mine to keep
Winter, winter, here I am
Yet he’s looking towards the sky
He flies with the crows of freedom
