Last Post: I like what you both had to say, I would change religion to belief in a higher power or being, since religion is an invention of man to believe in the divine and as such some are better than others and some are downright evil in their actions. and we should always judge a religion or person on their actions and not their stated views or values. That being said I would think it to be an obvious truth when one compares the charitable donations and actions of believers with non-believers who think that it is govt's job to care for everyone and not the individual and the local community charities.

Last Post: I am at peace with my life, but I dont want for my parents or wife to have to go thru dealing with my death. I’d prefer to outlive my wife so that she doesnt have to take care of me in my failing weeks, days and hours. That said, I dont want to be left to dangle on a machine, or anyone I care about either. Seeing a family go thru that shit is just wrong. Modern medicine is good, but not in keeping someone alive who has little cnace to recover imo. I also believe in doctor assisted suicide when the time is right. I wnat to make the decision and go on my terms, not a doctors, lawyers or insurance companys.

Last Post: I have to confess that I don--apost--t know much about that (or Hinduism incidentally). So can--apost--t really help. I--apost--m more into the philosophy side of things and am interested in how people think and how religions have come to exist and how people go about proving the existence of their God/god/gods. I find the whole aspect of religion fascinating.

Last Post: Its obviuosly not as simple as good versus evil as all here by thier statements seem to realize.I think part of our inability to have only one or the other has to do with the fact that we are very complicated beings and therefore must include all the gray areas.Freewill is one.Then there is compassion which makes us disgusted to see evil at work.And there is greed and jealosy which can cause us to act evilly.Sometmes we do what to one is evil to do good for ohers.I can see no way of having just good or evil because we are made up of many conflicting emotions.
